Our Story
Our mission at Reese Marie Salon is to enhance one's beauty and confidence by creating consistent service and trusting relationships.

After years in the beauty industry learning the ins and outs - the good and the challenging - Reese Marie was born out of desire to take quality care of each and every guest that walks into the studio; a need to create and manage a salon space that feels better than home, and leaves you looking and feeling your best. Our vision is to discover unique concepts that present untouched opportunities for both our team and our guests alike. Our #1 priority is you!
Jen
Co-Founder and Beauty Expert
Jen’s passion for the beauty industry and exceptional guest service has contributed to her successful 20+ year career in the Des Moines area. Her creativity and eye for detail produces a customized result for each guest who sits in her chair. Jen has traveled to numerous cities across North America to receive advanced training from world renowned artists. Throughout her career she has also gotten opportunities to participate in New York Fashion Week and direct her own editorial photoshoot. Other than being a stylist, Jen is our director of the Coaching and Development program for new talent. When not behind the chair, you can find her spending time with friends and family, traveling, or listening to live music.
Maya
Co-Founder and Glamor Guru
Maya is a Norwalk Native. Her love for the industry began in high school with makeup. After going through the Aveda Institute Des Moines’ cosmetology program she developed a love for all things beauty. Since diving into the industry in 2021, she has taken steps to advance her skill set including; an extension master certification course through Bellami, and advanced classes on bridal artistry. Maya specializes in hair color, extensions, and bridal hair + makeup artistry. Other than being a stylist behind the chair, Maya is our bridal coordinator and social media manager. When not in the salon you can find her at Crossfit, in Chicago for Cubs games with her family, or spending time with her dog.
Rylee
Hair Artist
Rylee got started in the industry after graduating from the Aveda Institute Des Moines, in 2022. She is passionate about learning new skills and helping her guests feel their best. Her skills really shine when it comes to blondes and color. When she's not with her guests, she is taking the time to learn new techniques with other stylists. She is always looking to learn and grow her skills whenever she can. Rylee is excited to meet new guests and to show off her creativity. In her free time, you can find Rylee spending time with friends and family, shopping, or reading books.
Kaylynn
Hair Artist
Kaylynn has been a stylist in the Des Moines metro since 2014. She is passionate about helping her guests create their look from start to finish with any and all services, but she truly shines when it comes to all types of cuts. She has received a certification in sew-in extensions and has advanced training in several cutting techniques, such as; French, Sassoon, Curly Girl Method, American Crew, and Aveda. Kaylynn has 6 years of experience on an artistic team collaborating on seasonal editorial photoshoots and both national and international competitions. She most recently was a finalist in Intercoiffure Nouveau Competition in 2020. She has worked with well-known artists including; Anna Pacito- global director for Davines and Intercoiffure, Ara Sassoonian- one of the most award-winning photographers for NAHA, Ekaterina Ulanoff- Canadian makeup artist of the year.
Mariko
Hair Artist
Mariko is originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota. She moved to Iowa and received a bachelor's degree at Iowa State University. After working several years in social services, she decided to take a leap and follow a dream. She then went on to attend the Aveda Institute Des Moines, where she graduated summer of 2023. It's not often that you find a stylist as poised and motivated, right out of the gates. Mariko always strives for every head of hair that sits in her chair to be her best cut or color yet. She is very passionate about helping others in and out of the community, as well as continuing her education and soaking up every bit of knowledge she can, to make her the best! Mariko loves and excels at everything; however, she especially looks forward to blonding and balayage. When she's not behind the chair, Mariko enjoys spending time with her husband, dog, family, and friends. You might also catch her at a coffee shop or two.
Savana
Guest Service Coordinator
Savana is from Norwalk, Iowa. She loves to be hands on at work! Savana strives to make each guest have a memorable time here at Reese Marie. She looks forward to applying everything she has learned here when she goes to cosmetology school. When Savana isn't at work, you can find her at the gym, hanging out with friends, or in front of the mirror keeping up with current fashion trends.
Anna
Hair Artist
Anna graduated from the Aveda Institute Des Moines in 2023. She is happy to have become a part of the Reese Marie team! She is eager to get to know new guests and broadening her skills. She loves all things color especially blonding techniques. Anna recently became certified in lash extensions and color analyst for your lashes. She is excited to learn and grow in the cosmetology industry. When she is not at the salon you can find Anna enjoying a good book, sleeping in and spending time with her friends and family.
